NEW YORK (AP) — New York City prosecutors say a former Little League coach pleaded guilty to sexually abusing boys on his baseball team and videotaping some of the acts.
David Hartshorn pleaded guilty Thursday to criminal sexual acts. He admitted assaulting three boys — two 14-year-olds and a 13-year-old — and taping two others engaging in sex acts. Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says Hartshorn took advantage of his role as a coach and manipulated the boys.
Prosecutors say one of the boys told his mother, who notified police. Hartshorn was arrested in February 2011.
He faces 18 years in prison at his sentencing on Sept. 28. A message left with his attorney seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.
The 54-year-old Hartshorn was once named "Rochdale Village Little League Coach of the Year."
