OXFORD, Maine (AP) — Officials say a stock car driver in Maine suffered burns when his car caught fire at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Assistant Fire Chief Ed Adams says driver Kyle Hewins was flown Saturday night to Maine Medical Center, where he was treated for burns on his hands.

The Sun Journal (http://bit.ly/N8SHTH ) says Hewins' car spun into a wall during and then caught fire, causing some harrowing moments.

The newspaper says the Hewins family is from the Leeds area, and that Hewins is listed in satisfactory condition at the Portland hospital.
