GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (AP) — The Crystal Cathedral made famous by the televangelist program the "Hour of Power" is losing its religion.

The soaring, glass-paned sanctuary will soon begin its transition from a Protestant landmark to a Catholic cathedral after the Diocese of Orange bought it in bankruptcy proceedings.

The upcoming change in ownership has raised questions about the future of the Southern California televangelist dynasty founded by the Rev. Robert H. Schuller and upset some longtime members of the church once dubbed the "Westminster Abbey of America."

The diocese has announced they will rename the Crystal Cathedral the Christ Cathedral. The diocese also recently took over the cemetery.

The Crystal Cathedral's congregation will move out by June 2013 and will air the "Hour of Power" from a nearby Catholic church.
