More evidence to be presented in Texas bomb plot

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — Prosecutors will continue presenting evidence against a Saudi man accused of buying chemicals and other materials online to try to build a bomb.

More FBI agents and experts are expected to take the stand Tuesday in Amarillo on the third day of testimony in the trial of Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari (KAH'-lihd ah-lee-EHM' al-duh-SAHR'-ee), a former Texas Tech University chemical engineering student.

Aldawsari, who was legally in the U.S. on a student visa, was arrested in February 2011 after federal agents secretly searched his apartment, saying they found bomb-making chemicals, wiring and clocks.

He faces up to life in prison if convicted of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. Investigators say targets he researched included the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush, dams and nuclear plants.
