BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Police in Beverly Hills say they are responding to a report of a shooting at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

Watch commander Steve Lagin of the Beverly Hills Police Department says officers were sent to the hotel when the shooting was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Friday night. He could give no further details.

The famed luxury hotel on Wilshire Boulevard is the longtime home of the Golden Globe Awards and several similar annual galas.

It most recently made news as the place where Whitney Houston drowned in her room's bathtub in February.
