LIMA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in northwest Ohio say it appears a woman who suddenly drove her car into a crowded town square, injuring dozens, may have done it accidentally.

Sgt. Jason Garlock of the Lima Police Department said Sunday that every indication is that the 63-year-old woman unintentionally drove her vehicle into the crowd Friday night. About 30 people were injured, and some were pinned under the car and freed when bystanders lifted it.

Garlock says the woman was briefly detained was not arrested. She has been released pending further investigation. Police haven't identified her.

No charges have been filed, but Garlock says that could change after witnesses are interviewed and a toxicology report is complete. He says it could take weeks.
