The Red Cross was helping several families after they woke up to a car smashed into their home.
Columbus Police say it happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 6200 block of Michaelkenney Lane in northwest Columbus.
The driver told officers he was traveling down the road when he lost control and smashed right into the front of the building, hitting the front doors of two units.
Officers say there were 12 people in the four affected units, all forced to evacuate, but none were injured.
Police suggested the people living in the badly damaged building stay out of the apartments until the building inspectors could take a closer look.
Police say the driver was arrested at the scene.
