There’s new video that’s been released of a suspect in a fatal shooting.
Family members say someone shot Michael Cumberland on his mother's front porch.
Grieving family members say the fact the home was full of children is evidence the person who killed Michael is a threat to all of us.
Family members say 39-year old Cumberland wasn't the type of guy who could sneak up on you.
“His nickname was ‘Noise’ and he made a lot of noise,” said Amelia Cumberland, the victim’s sister.
On July 13, the father of four fell forever silent when he was shot and killed just before 6 a.m., standing on the front porch of his mother's home in the 1100 block of Berkeley Avenue in east Columbus.
Police say the killer probably didn't notice the home surveillance cameras on the house across the street. The cameras caught a person running from the scene of the crime.
Family members hope anyone who can identify the man will do the right thing and come forward.
“We lost our only brother. My mom lost her only son. It could have just as easily been their family member or them,” said Amelia.
Family members say because Michael was murdered outside his mother’s home, they believe he knew his killer. And they say that means the gunman knew the house is always filled with children.
“They didn't care. And if they didn't care about my mother and nieces and nephews, they're not going to care about your nieces and nephews or your brother.”
The victim's sister says won't sleep until her brother's killer is caught. She says she hopes that happens before he hurts someone else.
“It stands to reason if they did it once and they get away with this they're going to do it again.”
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
