Police Searching For Answers After Early Morning Shooting In North Columbus

Columbus police continue to search for answers following the shooting death of man in a north Columbus apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

The investigation comes after police found 62-year-old Meshack Mwangi shot to death on the 3500 block of Greenwich Street, behind the Northern Lights Shopping Center.

Police say they found Mwangi shot in the upper body inside a courtyard near the apartment complex.  He was rushed to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.

According to authorities, one person heard a single shot outside the apartment complex, but they have no witnesses.  Police say they’re investigating the motive for the shooting, as well as who may have pulled the trigger.  Meanwhile, they’re also searching for other possible witnesses to the crime.
