A warm and muggy air mass will remain across central Ohio over the next few days. While a frontal boundary has pushed out of central Ohio, pop up storms will remain possible through early evening. The best chance for storms will remain closer to the front, near the Ohio River. With the wet ground from recent rains and the high humidity, expect areas of fog to once again develop late tonight and linger through early Saturday morning.
It will remain quite warm and steamy for the upcoming weekend. While the chances for rain will remain low, generally 20% or less, a pop up storm will be possible during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Any storms that do pop up could drop some brief heavy rain. Temperatures will near 90 degrees both Saturday and Sunday and likely top 90 degrees early next week. The heat index will likely reach into the middle 90s each afternoon through Tuesday. A cold front will arrive toward the middle of next week bringing cooler, less humid air into central Ohio by Thursday.
Alerts : A FLASH FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for southeast Ohio until 1:00 a.m. (May be dropped early)
Inconvenient Weather: Pop up showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through early this evening. Any storms that do develop could lead to localized flooding due to the saturated ground from recent rain. The heat and humidity will be on the rise as we head into the weekend and early next week which could push heat index values into the middle to upper 90s.
Planning your Day: Partly sunny skies are in the forecast with a pop up afternoon storm possible. Temperatures will reach into the upper 80s with muggy conditions.
