Ohio Officials Warn Students Of Drink Tampering

State officials say college students should watch their drinks as they head back to campuses around Ohio.
The Ohio Investigative Unit says drink drugging often happens at bars and house parties and can lead to sexual assault or robbery. Officials warn students against leaving drinks unattended or accepting a drink from anyone they don't know or trust.
In 2013, nine rapes with drugs as a weapon were reported in Ohio.
Drink tampering often goes unreported. State officials say witnesses of potential drink tampering should let the person know their drink may have been compromised and call 9-1-1 immediately.
The Ohio Investigative Unit suggests that students and others going to bars go with a friend and get bottles or cans.
