This week’s Crime of the Week concerns two aggravated robberies this week in Columbus.

According to police, around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, a male suspect entered the Duke & Duchess gas station on Granville Street in Gahanna.  The man approached the counter and pulled out what appeared to be a brown paper bag, which he said contained a gun and demanded money from the cash register.  He then forced the female cashier into the walk-in cooler and ordered her not to exit for 30 minutes.  Once inside the cooler, the man fled the store with the stolen cash.

Several hours later, the same suspect entered the Subway restaurant on Broadway in Grove City.  He again pulled out a bag which he said contained a gun and demanded money.  He then ordered all employees into a walk-in cooler before fleeing with the money.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s to early 40s.  He is approximately 5’9” with light-colored hair and a goatee.  He was seen driving an older model turquoise sedan with a male and female passenger inside.
