Former Buckeye basketball player Greg Oden has been arrested in Indiana.
10TV's sister station WTHR in Indianapolis says Oden is facing charges for misdemeanor battery.
He was arrested around 5:00 Thursday morning in Lawrence, Indiana and booked into the Marion county jail.
When the officer responded to the home, he said he found a woman with blood on her face.
A witness told investigators that Oden had punched the woman in the face. The woman's nose was swollen and her forehead was cut.
The officer said there was blood on the sofa and the floor. The woman told the officer she had fallen, but according to the officer, the witness kept insisting that Oden had punched the victim.
A press release said Oden told the officer "Things got out of control and I started to go after the victim. My relative and witness tried to hold me back, but I swung my arms to move them out of the way, then punched the victim in the face." He said the woman was his ex-girlfriend.
Oden last played for the Miami Heat but is now a free agent.
Oden's agent has not commented on the incident.
