Firefighters are fighting a fire at a home in west Columbus.
The fire started shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Avondale Avenue.
Firefighters say right now it's unclear how the fire started, but it did spread quickly and has even burned holes through the first and second floors.
A family with four children were among the neighbors pulled from nearby homes. All neighbors were able to make it out without any injuries. A neighbor saw the flames and ran to other homes to make sure everyone was safe.
One firefighter was injured while fighting the flames. She was taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation, but is expected to be okay.
Firefighters say neighbors told them the family that had been living in the home was working on moving out and it's unclear whether they are currently living in the home.
Firefighters told people living in neighboring homes to get out in case the fire spread.
