Police Helicopter Forced To Make Emergency Landing

UPDATED: Monday August 4, 2014 6:15 AM

Columbus Police are guarding a Police helicopter that had to make an emergency landing Sunday night.

Police say the helicopter had to land because of a maintenance problem.

It sat down near the Columbus Police Department Substation at Morse Road & Karl Road, that's near the Old Northland mall area in north Columbus.

There was a fuel truck on the scene, but police aren't saying if the helicopter ran out of gas.

No one was injured in the landing.

Cruisers plan on guarding the helicopter until maintenance crews can get the chopper flying again.
