Crime of the Week: Information Sought In Prairie Township Homicide

This week’s “Crime of the Week” concerns a Homicide that took place in Prairie Township. 

On Thursday, July 17, 2014, at approximately 6:00 a.m., a body was discovered along the roadway near the intersection of Oxley Road and Palmetto Street in Prairie Township in Franklin County. The victim, later identified as 49-year-old William David Keen, had been shot in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Keen had spent the night at a friend's house located on Palmetto Street, where he had been doing construction work in the home. Neighbors in the area had reported hearing gunshots sometime around 2:15 a.m. 

A white, 4-door midsize sedan with a sunroof was observed turning onto Oxley Road off of West Broad Street just moments before the homicide occurred.
