The investigation into a kidnapping put not only the accused kidnapper, but also the alleged victim, behind bars.

Hilliard Police say someone called them to report Curtis Crowley, Jr. had been abducted.

That person said the kidnapper was demanding $10,000 ransom.

Police say they discovered it was an extortion scam and that Crowley was part of the plot.

The FBI helped police arrest Crowley and James Ferguson near Easton.
