One man has been charged after he fired a single gunshot at Alum Creek State Park on Thursday.

The incident occurred just after 9:00 Thursday morning.

According to authorities, two men were engaged in a heated argument over uncooked food at a campground site within the park during a birthday party.  One of the men fired a single round into the ground during the argument.  No one was injured.

At least four children were present during the shooting, who were also unharmed.

The park entrance was briefly closed until deputies arrived.

The gunman has been charged with inducing panic and child endangerment.

Another woman was charged for falsification after deputies say she knew about the incident, but lied to officers about what she knew.

The sheriff's department says it is not illegal to bring a firearm to a state park as long as you have a concealed carry permit.  In this case the owner of the gun had a license, but the person who fired the gun did not.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.  The investigation is ongoing.
