Musician Bret Michaels will appear at the 10TV Health & Fitness Expo on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 1p.m.
"I am very excited to be a part of this huge event. As someone who has battled diabetes, I am looking forward to sharing my message on overcoming adversity to live a better life. I hope to help 10TV make a difference in the lives of people in Central Ohio," said Michaels.
Bret was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of six, and is passionately devoted to raising awareness of the disease in hopes of finding a cure. He has partnered with both the American Diabetes Association and the JDRF as spokesperson and a sponsor. Bret has also created the Life Rocks Foundation and helps raise tens of millions for diabetes research, childhood cancer charities, and St. Jude Children's Hospital. In addition, Bret also appeared on a recent Oprah's LifeClass, sharing his life lessons and personal story of overcoming health obstacles.
Bret Michaels rose to fame as the front man of the iconic band, Poison, selling over 30 million records worldwide. Bret burst onto the reality TV scene in the wildly popular Rock of Love with Bret Michaels show. Bret also starred in and won Donald Trump's NBC hit, Celebrity Apprentice, raising more than $300,000 for Diabetes research.
The 10TV Health and Fitness Expo will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on August 16-17, 2014. The two-day public event is provided to help central Ohioans learn more about how to live longer and more vital lives by connecting with experts from more than 100 health, wellness and medical companies, and participating in a variety of activities designed to help people get on a path to better health.
The Expo includes two stages programmed with fun demonstrations, national celebrities and a healthy cooking series where visitors get free samples after each chef creation.
