Columbus police were searching for a gunman after a shooting in east Columbus Monday morning.
Police say a gunman walked into a home in the 700 block of Kelton Avenue around 4:00 a.m. They say the suspect then walked upstairs and started firing bullets at a man who was in his bed.
Police say the man was hit once in the face and possibly another time in the neck. That victim was taken to Grant Medical Center and rushed into surgery.
The victim's wife, who was in bed next to her husband when the shooting happened, called 911 shortly after shots were fired. "Somebody just broke into my house. I think my husband left the door unlocked," she states in the call.
