Police Search For Man Who Held Up Convenience Store At Gunpoint

Police are searching for the person who robbed a southeast Columbus convenience store at gunpoint.

Columbus Police say a man walked into De Store in the 5200 block of Gender Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The clerk who was in the store told officers the gunman was wearing a white shirt, black pants, a black Ohio State baseball hat with a red bill a white bandana over his face, dark sunglasses and gloves.

The robber got away with cigarettes and cash, but not before threatening the clerk's life.

The clerk says the suspect demanded that the clerk open the store's safe. When the clerk said he didn't know how, the suspect became mad and pointed the gun at the clerk's face, threatening to kill him.

The clerk says he ran out the back door of the store, and the suspect fled through the front door.
