Simulator Aims To Teach Teens Dangers Of Drugged Driving

Central Ohio teenagers were strapped with weights and wore blurry goggles in an exercise aimed at teaching them a lesson.

The teenagers were taking part in a presentation by the group RADD.

They were taken through a driving course. The weights and goggles were used to simulate the effects of drugged driving.

Organizers hope teens learn that getting behind the wheel after doing drugs can have damaging, even fatal, consequences.

“I just drove a car through a drunk driving course, and it was very impairing. I couldn't see at all,” said Brandon Riegel, Northwestern High School student.

The simulator was on hand at Huntington Park Friday morning.
