A man accused of leaving the scene of a fatal crash near Galloway is expected to appear in court on Monday.

Deputies said Rex Hamilton, 58, Galloway, was driving his Dodge pick-up when he did not see the motorcycle at the stop sign located at Broad Street and Amity Road around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sheriff's deputies said he was towing a car dolly when he hit the motorcycle and caused it to lose control.

Two people were on the motorcycle. Neither was wearing a helmet. The passenger, Lena K. Clark, 38, Galloway was killed. The driver was transported to Doctors West Hospital.

Franklin County Sheriff's Office deputies said Hamilton left the scene. After receiving a tip, they located Hamilton and his pick-up truck around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies said they found the truck behind a building in Hamilton's backyard in the 300 block of Amity Road.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Hamilton is charged with hit-skip and tampering with evidence after a fatal crash.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate.
