Search Resumes For Drowning Victim In South Columbus Quarry

Police believe one person has drowned in a South Columbus quarry.

Officers say a witness heard someone screaming for help in a quarry off of Jackson Pike and saw the person go under the water.

Police arrived shortly Thursday after 6:00 p.m. and searched the water.

The search was suspended shortly after 8:00 p.m. due to the setting sun.

Police will return to the scene Friday morning.

The witness said the victim may have been a man in his twenties.
