Fire Chief Accused Of Using Work Computer For Inappropriate Reasons

UPDATED: Wednesday June 18, 2014 5:22 AM

After nine hours of deliberations, fire officials did not reach a decision about the future of a Licking County fire chief accused of using his work computer for inappropriate purposes.

David Fulmer could lose his job if the board decides he violated the provisions of the fire district's policy on technology.

He has been accused of allowing his family to use the computers, downloading inappropriate material, and using the computers to view sexually explicit websites.

He is also accused of using the laptops for private business ventures for profit.

Officials at the West Licking Joint Fire District in Pataskala debated his future from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday until about 3:00 Wednesday morning.

The fire board told 10TV that they still need to hear from several witnesses.

That's why they decided to end the discussion for now, and will pick it up again next month.

Fulmer has been put on paid administrative leave.

Fulmer was fired from his job as chief at West Licking back in 2012 for a similar reason, but he appealed the board's decision and won.
