Ohio will officially dedicate a new Holocaust memorial on Monday on the the statehouse grounds. It's been three years in the making, but supporters say it's been worth the wait.
"People will come to the statehouse and they will see something that memorializes the lives of those lost," said Joyce Garver-Keller the Executive Director of Ohio Jewish Communities. "And it will celebrate the lives of survivors who came to Ohio to build their lives and make the state a better place."
The Ohio Holocaust and Liberators Memorial cost $2.2 million and it's just over one thousand feet in size.
It was designed by Daniel Libeskind, a famous New York artist.
More than 15 hundred people are expected Monday for the ceremony.
Tickets are free, but required for the event.
