An Ohio medical clinic owner and two doctors he oversaw are set to be sentenced Wednesday on charges that they provided illegal prescriptions of oxycodone and other drugs to customers for $200.
Tracy Bias has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Prosecutors are recommending Bias be sentenced to more than 19 years in prison. A judge already ordered Bias to forfeit $6.3 million.
Bias' attorney, John Keller, is arguing for a lighter sentence. Keller didn't return messages seeking comment Tuesday.
Prosecutors say dozens of customers a week would travel hundreds of miles to visit clinics owned by Bias in southern and central Ohio, paying $200 per visit for painkillers.
They say the pill mills contributed to the deaths of two people.
