Homicide detectives were trying to piece together what led to a shooting in north Columbus Tuesday morning that killed a man.
Officers said 50-year-old David M. Reed victim was shot in the stomach on East 23rd Avenue around 3:15 a.m.
He crawled to a strangers home to call for help.
Police said Reed was taken to The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in critical Condition.
He was taken into surgery shortly after arriving at the hospital, but died a few hours later.
Detectives were searching for shell casings and other evidence in the area.
No arrests have been made.
