More than half of the 52 people cited in a northwest Ohio cockfighting ring have pleaded guilty and were fined.
Fulton County authorities said they seized 72 live roosters near the village of Delta during a raid earlier this month.
The Blade newspaper reports Thursday that all 36 people who have appeared in court so far have been convicted of single misdemeanor counts of animal fighting charges and been fined $250 plus court costs.
Of the 52 cited on May 4, 26 are from Indiana, 17 are from Michigan and nine are Ohio residents.
Deputies responding to reports of suspicious activity found the roosters in cages, boxes and in cars around a property.
One of the birds was severely injured and had to be killed.
