Firefighters responded to a burning home in Franklinton early Tuesday morning.
Fire crews said witness called 911 after seeing smoke pouring from a home on Dakota Avenue around 4:30 a.m.
Firefighters said the home appeared to be vacant, but witnesses told firefighters that they saw people climbing out the windows to escape the flames.
Fire officials said the fire started on the first floor, but quickly spread through all three stories of the home, including the attic.
It took fire crews about 20 minutes to contain the fire.
One firefighters was treated from exhaustion, but is expected to be okay.
Fire invesetigators were heading to the scene to investigate.
