Police say 25-year-old Brandy Daniels was found dead near her Muskingum County home late Monday night.
Deputies were called to a scene on the 6600 block of McCaslin Road, east of Dillon State Park, around 10:50 p.m. The home is in a rural part of western Muskingum County, surrounded by rolling farm fields.
Daniels’ sister found her in a car in the driveway. She went out to check after Daniels was late from work. She called 911.
“My sister is in the driveway and her head is bloody and she’s not moving,” Daniels’ sister reported to authorities.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says Brady Daniels was shot to death. He says spent casings were discovered at the scene. The evidence should provide investigators with a good idea of the type of gun used in the crime.
Detectives are looking into several persons of interest, according to the sheriff.
“Your hands are tied to a certain extent when you have the case in front of you, and you have what there is to work with - so we are doing everything we can to find out who did this and why,” added Lutz.
If anyone has any information about the crime, they are urged to call the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office at 740-452-3637 EXT 6041.
