Ohio Wesleyan University Student Stabbed Near Campus

UPDATED: Monday May 5, 2014 6:20 AM

The Delaware police department was investigating a stabbing near the Ohio Wesleyan University campus early Saturday morning.

Someone from the Chi Phi fraternity house called 911 around 3 a.m. to report the incident. During the call, the caller told the dispatcher someone came into the room and stabbed the victim while he was sleeping.

University President Rock Jones sent an email Saturday afternoon that stated the victim was senior Anthony Peddle.

Peddle was listed as the 2014 class president on the university's website and scheduled to speak at graduation.

Peddle was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center where he was last listed in fair condition with injuries to his hand and chest. Peddle was released from the hospital Sunday night.

The University also sent an email to students that stated witnesses reported seeing a male suspect wearing a blue or green hoodie.

There was no sign of forced entry at the fraternity house. Police questioned boys who live at the fraternity house. Right now, they do not have anyone in custody.

The campus was not put under lockdown.
