Senator Rob Portman told reporters this morning that he will be traveling to Ukraine at the end of the month to "see the situation on the ground" and monitor upcoming elections.
"It will be a congressional delegation trip, I'm not sure where we're exactly going yet," said Portman. "I'm working actually with Senator Corker who is the ranking Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee. And also Senator Cardin who is the Democrat chair of one of the groups that is particularly interested in what's going on in Eastern Europe."
“CODEL” is the nickname for bipartisan congressional travel. CODEL trips to Ukraine have increased in wake of recent military action by Russia.
Portman says his office will release more information later.
