Special Information:
As we head into the evening, high pressure will be moving off to the east as a large, potent storm system across the Central Plains gets closer to the Ohio Valley. This storm system will spread clouds into central Ohio by late this evening with a threat for showers and thunderstorms late tonight. Waves of showers and storms are expected to start the week with one wave of rain expected Monday morning. As that wave moves off to the east, skies will become partly cloudy Monday afternoon allowing for temperatures to climb to near 70 degrees. Another wave of rain which could contain a few stronger storms will push into central Ohio from southwest to northeast Monday night. The primary threat from these storms would be from damaging winds, large hail and locally heavy rainfall. The greatest threat for severe weather will be south and west of Columbus.
After a quick break from the rain Tuesday, another wave of showers and storms is expected by late Tuesday evening. Again, a few strong storms will be possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The storm system will weaken, but remain stalled across the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Wednesday into next weekend. This will keep unsettled weather in the area with partly to mostly cloudy skies and occasional showers through the weekend.

Alerts :  None. (SPC has “Slight Risk” for severe storms in southwest Ohio late Monday)

Inconvenient Weather:  A large, potent storm system moving out of the Central Plains will spread showers and thunderstorms into the state as early as tonight. A round of strong to potentially severe thunderstorms will be possible Monday evening, especially south and west of Columbus. The threat for isolated strong to severe storms will continue into Tuesday. Locally heavy rain will also be likely the next few days.

Planning your Day:  Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast as we start the week. Some sunshine in-between rain showers will allow temperatures to climb to near 70 degrees by the afternoon.
