At least four people are confirmed dead, but officials in South Korea fear the death toll could get much higher following the sinking of a ferry off the southern coast.

Nearly 300 people are unaccounted for.

Officials say 459 people were on board when the multi-story ferry starting leaning today.

One of the 325 high school students on the ferry says he and others jumped into the water with their life jackets and swam to rescuers nearby.

Now divers are trying to search the inside of the submerged vessel for anyone still inside.
