The Food and Drug Administration is proposing some new rules to strengthen the safe transportation of food.
The move follows a 10 Investigates story that no federal or state agency is responsible for making sure refrigerated trucks keep food at the right temperature.

10TV showed how rotting food could end up in grocery stores or restaurants because nobody was tasked with proactively checking food truck temperatures.
Now the FDA would establish criteria for properly refrigerating food, adequately cleaning vehicles between loads, and properly protecting food during transportation.
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown sent a letter to the FDA endorsing the changes.
The FDA will take public comments through the end of May. It could be 2015 before the rules are finalized.
