A passing neighbor woke a family when she saw a fire burning at a west Columbus home.
The fire started around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of Brixham Road.
Investigators say the fire started outside the house.
A woman who was driving by spotted the flames. She quickly called 911 then ran to the back of the home to wake the family inside.
Two adults and a child escaped safely and are expected to be okay.
The damage was contained to the front porch of the home.
Firefighters say the fire was accidental.
