Extra Officers On Patrol After Alleged Child Enticement

Extra police officers were patrolling bus stops near Columbus Wednesday morning after a student said a stranger tried to entice the child into a van.

The incident happened in the South-western City School District Monday morning, in the Clearview Meadows subdivision.

Police said the student was walking to the bus stop when a man in his 50s approached and tried to coerce the student into his vehicle.

The student ran away and told school officials.

The suspect was said to be wearing a black jacket and baseball cap at the time.

He was driving a white van.

Officers will be on alert near bus stops all week near Finland Middle School.
