Newly released documents show that Hillary Rodham Clinton's advisers tried to "humanize" her public image during her husband's time in the White House and as she prepared to run for the Senate in New York.

Thousands of pages of documents released Friday by the Clinton Presidential Library reveal the first lady's struggles with the health care proposal in 1993 and efforts by advisers to portray her in a more favorable light.

The former secretary of state is the leading Democratic contender to succeed President Barack Obama, but she has not said whether she'll run.

The records are the first of more than 25,000 pages expected to be released by the National Archives in the next two weeks on the Clinton White House.
