Winter Storm Warning Issued for Parts Of Central Ohio

Special Information:
   An arctic cold front will coming with a large storm system moving into the Ohio Valley tonight to bring widespread wintry precipitation into the state. A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow will become likely after 2am tonight and change to all snow early Sunday. Snow will continue through the day Sunday into Sunday night. Snowfall accumulations will range from 4 to 8 inches across most of central Ohio with locally higher amounts possible across southern Ohio. Some ice accumulation will also be possible late tonight near and south of a Washington Court House to Chillicothe to Marietta line before precipitation changes to snow early Sunday.
   The snow will end very early Monday with clearing skies expected Monday afternoon. Temperatures will fall through the 20’s Sunday evening with highs only around 20 on Monday. With fresh snow on the ground, temperatures will drop to near 0 to 5 degrees by Tuesday morning.

Inconvenient Weather: A wintry mix will develop after midnight tonight and change to snow by early Sunday morning. Snow will increase through the day Sunday with snowfall accumulations of 4-8 inches likely through Sunday night. Locally higher amounts will be possible south of I-70. Road conditions will deteriorate through the day Sunday with hazardous travel expected to last through Monday morning.

Planning Your Day:  Snow will be likely across central Ohio through the day Sunday. Some sleet or freezing rain will mix in across southern Ohio early Sunday before changing to all snow Sunday night. The snow may be heavy at times through Sunday night, especially along and south of I-70.
