UPDATED: Friday February 21, 2014 5:24 PM

Officials at the Ohio State University issued a crime alert on Friday after a rape suspect was spotted on campus.

On January 25, police investigated an alleged rape at a residence hall.

Ohio State police now say a suspect in that crime has attempted to get into the hall since the incident.

Police believe there is a continuing threat.

They describe the suspect as a black male, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall. Investigators say he around 19 years old and has a "wide build." The suspect has scars over most of his face and short black hair. His complexion is described as "lighter and pock-marked."

The suspect was wearing a gray coat the night of the attack. He was also seen recently wearing a Cincinnati Bengals sweatshirt.

If you see something suspicious, call University Police or (off-campus) Columbus Police. Always dial 911 in an emergency. Information can also be given through the University Crime Stoppers Tips line at 247-TIPS
