Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for a man who used hot coffee to attack a clerk and rob a gas station.

On December 26, the suspect walked into a Sunoco station at 4840 on Sinclair Road and asked the clerk to make a fresh pot of coffee.

The suspect went back to his vehicle and then returned for the coffee. The suspect said he could not pay for the item, but the clerk said that he could at a later visit.

After leaving the store, the suspect returned again and added sugar to his cup. He then grabbed the entire pot of hot coffee and threw it into the face of the clerk. He pushed the clerk to the ground.

The suspect pounded on the cash register but could not get it open until the clerk did it for him. He grabbed $200 and fled.

He's described as being in his 50s, 6 feet tall, around 150 pounds, with a thin beard.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to our website at www.stopcrime.org.
