Wintry Mix Expected By Late Monday Afternoon

Special Information:
    High pressure will briefly move in tonight allowing skies to gradually clear overnight. Temperatures will drop into the single digits to lower teens overnight. Monday will start dry before another clipper-type system moves in during the afternoon. A mix of rain, sleet and snow will spread into central Ohio by late afternoon or early evening Monday. This will lead to a messy evening commute Monday. Precipitation will change to all snow late Monday night before ending where 1 to 3 inches of snow will be possible along I-70 with 2-4” possible north of a Marysville to Delaware To Newark line. Some light icing will also be possible where freezing rain occurs. The morning commute on Tuesday will also likely be impacted; however precipitation will likely be coming to an end early Tuesday.

    Skies will clear quickly on Tuesday with warmer temperatures filtering into central Ohio as highs push into the lower 40’s.  Temperatures will hold steady on Wednesday with some sunshine with much warmer air pushing into the state on Thursday. A strong storm system will cross central Ohio late Thursday with numerous showers and thunderstorms possible by Thursday night.

Inconvenient Weather:  A storm system will spread a mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow into central Ohio by late Monday afternoon. The wintry mix will change to snow Monday night before ending early Tuesday morning. Some light icing will be possible with snow and sleet accumulations of around 1-3” possible in central Ohio. Locally higher amounts are possible north of Columbus / I-70.
