Missing Denison University Student Found Dead

Denison University confirms they found a missing student dead Saturday night.

Police were searching for 21-year-old David Hallman III.

Laurel Kennedy, the Vice President for Student Development at Denison University, reported that he went missing Saturday morning.

Granville Police and college personnel said Hallman left Brew's café around 2 a.m. Saturday.

His father reported him missing after he failed to show up at a noon appointment.

Granville Police teamed up with Denison University security, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Granville Township Fire Department to search for Hallman.  They used a K-9 unit and conducted an aerial search, but did not find him.

Denison staff members found a body around 10:30 p.m.  Police identified the body as Hallman.

Hallman's cause of death is unknown.  Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
