Homicide Detectives Investigate Suspicious Death In Northeast Columbus

Homicide detectives are now calling a death in northeast Columbus suspicious.

Authorities say a man's body was discovered at a vacant apartment on East 25th Avenue on Monday.

Police said the victims was found with gunshot wounds just inside the back door.

Officers said it appeared the man may have been homeless.

Neighbors tell us this is the second homicide in the apartments in less than a year.

Another body was found in the are in June.

"It's kind of frightening," said neighbor Cristina Holloway.  "I don't even let my kids outside to play anymore because I don't even know what's going on.  They keep finding these bodies inside these supposedly abandoned apartments and I don't understand."

Police have not identified the victim.

At this point, they do not have any suspects in custody.
