Columbia Gas Urges Customers to Conserve Energy in Bitter Cold

UPDATED: Monday January 27, 2014 12:29 AM

Columbia Gas is asking customers to conserve their natural gas as Central Ohio prepares for another round of bitter cold temperatures.

The company expects peak usage on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It's asking its 1.4 million customers to lower their thermostats to help ensure an adequate supply of natural gas is available for everyone.

The company also suggests limiting use of natural gas appliances during the early morning hours and open south-facing curtains and blinds during the day.

To report an outage or other emergency, customers should call Columbia Gas at 1-800-344-4077.
