Cat Up for Adoption after Losing Ear to Frostbite

UPDATED: Sunday January 26, 2014 10:04 PM

The Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says a cat suffering from frostbite will be available for adoption in a couple of months after she recovers from surgery.

The cat, named Sugar, was one of two rescued by a lady in Vinton County on Saturday. The other cat died from exposure to the cold.

Sugar lost one ear. She was taken to the Rascal Animal Hospital in Dublin where veterinarians performed surgery to save her other ear.

She is now on antibiotics to make sure her ear doesn't get infected.

If you would like to help Sugar, you can contact the Ohio SPCA by emailing OhioSPCA@frontier.com or calling (740) 420-2984.
