More Than $80,000 Raised To Help Homeless, Find Out What's Still Needed

UPDATED: Thursday January 23, 2014 6:43 PM

WBNS-10TV and The Dispatch Printing Company raised $80,950 in Day to End Homelessness telethon on January 22, 2014. The 17.5 hour telethon raised money to house homeless adults and families. With Franklin County shelters over capacity, Day to End Homelessness responded to the growing need for the community’s support.

Donors can still become Housing Heroes and contribute $1 a day or $30 a month via credit card online at daytoendhomelessness.org.  All money raised will support the successful programs of Community Shelter Board to help people get back on their feet and into affordable housing as quickly as possible.

The Community Shelter Board also has an opportunity to donate most needed items for a new shelter that will open in the Summer of 2014. By collecting the items below, you are helping to ensure the well-being of our most vulnerable neighbors – our brothers and sisters, moms and dads with kids – and helping us to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

Items Needed
baby wipes or wet wipes
combs & brushes
deodorant
feminine hygiene products
linens – twin sized – new or gently used
socks

Collect items this week and bring them to the 10TV community-wide drop-off event on Sat, Feb 1, 2014 at 595 Van Buren Drive.
