A woman's body was found in a vehicle spotted in the Scioto River Friday morning.
The car in the water was reported around 7 a.m. near Greenlawn Avenue. A construction worker spotted the top of the vehicle.
The Columbus Water Rescue Team helped pull the car from the river around 9:30 a.m.
There were tire tracks in the grass headed toward the bank, but the tracks were left in the ground - not in last night's snow. That evidence leads officials to believe the car, likely, went over the embankment some time ago.
Family members of the victim gathered at the scene as emergency crews pulled the car from the water.
Responders received a suicide threat in the area last Wednesday, but nothing was located when they searched the area.
At this time, officials cannot confirm whether or not that suicide threat may be connected to this death.
One of the westbound lanes of Greenlawn Avenue was closed while fire crews worked to get the vehicle out of the water.
