One year and still no answers. Jacob Zang, 24, was killed in a hit and run last New Year's Day and the driver never came forward. It happened along North Cassady Avenue near Drake Road. According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Zang was walking along Cassady Avenue when he was struck by a driver at about 4:35 a.m. Jan. 1. Officials said that they believed Zang was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Cassady Avenue. The two lane road has no sidewalks and is not well lit. Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott is pleading with public for help in finding Zang's killer and believes somebody knows something. Meantime, while everyone is ringing in 2014, Zang's family continues to mourn his loss. "New Year's will never be the same," said Tiffany Beskid, Zang's cousin. Zang was a 2007 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School, a standout football player and wrestling coach for the team. He was also the oldest of 10 children. Investigators don't have any leads in the case. "We'd like them to come forward and we pray that they have the courage to because I can't imagine living with that," Beskin said of the driver who hit Zang. Anyone with any information in Jacob Zang's death is asked to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Crime Stoppers is also offering a substantial reward for the arrest and conviction of his killer.
